Hi y'all! I'm Jennifer and I am a holistic nutritionist on the South Shore. I'm also a runner, a dedicated wife, a mom to two Boston Terriers and an adventurer.
After graduating from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, with a double major in French and International Studies, I enrolled at Bauman College via their online program in summer of 2015. I graduated in the spring of 2018 as a Certified Nutrition Consultant.
I have experience working with clients for the last year or so and I am eager to continue supporting people on their health journeys!
My health perspective involves the simple mantra: Eat real foods! Real food prepared in your own home, with high quality ingredients and loads of fresh, locally grown vegetables is a huge part of my eating philosophy. I also advocate for moving at your own pace and engaging in a positive relationship with food. Eat positive, be positive!
I design individualized nutrition and wellness plans for my clients, as well as support clients in bone broth fasts and elimination protocols. I specialize in autoimmune conditions (especially hypothyroid/Hashimoto's thyroiditis), emotional eating, weight loss, anti-inflammatory diets, and allergen free meal plans.

When I was 2 years old, my doctor discovered I had a neuroblastoma in my abdomen. From what I've been told, this childhood cancer is often fatal but I was apparently lucky. The tumor had not metastasized and could be removed via surgery. I did remain in the care of the wonderful doctors at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, until I was about fifteen.
As a teenager I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. My mother, aunts and grandmother have all experienced issues with their thyroid including hypo- and hyperthyroid conditions as well as thyroid cancer. I began taking medication for this condition but still experienced symptoms on a daily basis.
After moving to another state, I experienced the frustration and stress of engaging with a new family doctor and endocrinologist (the doctor for my hypothyroid condition). During this process I revealed my history of having cancer and my desire to be symptom-free in relation to my thyroid issues. Throughout these experiences I realized two truths: doctors are not always focused on preventative care OR alternative care, and I am my own best advocate and researcher.
Even though my lab work appeared appropriate, I still experienced significant symptoms of Hashimoto's. So I began my own research. I focused on nutrition because I felt empowered about changing my own health with food.
I read everything about nutrition I could find - Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Michael Pollan, Dr. Andrew Weil, Nora Gedgaudas, Dr. Jeffrey Bland, and Dr. Amy Myers. I began to really understand how food affects us on a daily basis. Food affects our mood, our digestion, our ability to think clearly, our sleep, and our future health, among many other aspects of our lives.
As I soaked up knowledge about nutrition, I realized I wanted to learn so much more and I wanted to be able to share this knowledge with everyone I knew and loved. So I decided to make a career as a nutrition consultant and began my schooling with Bauman College.
And I've never looked back. Today I'm healthier and stronger than I've ever been, and I know it's almost exclusively because of what I put in my body and how I treat my body with respect. Food is health and health is food, which seems reductive. Yet the notion that what we eat has a powerful health effect on our bodies is just now becoming mainstream knowledge. Eat positive to heal your bodies, be positive with your mind, and health will find you!
